"I wanted a small stand to set on my desk next to my computer monitor when I was syncing my iPad 2. This stand is absolutely perfect, even with the weight of the smart cover hanging off the top (in landscape view).

I also have a thin plastic rear cover on my iPad 2 and this stand works well with it left on as well as the smart cover rolled up on the top. You will have to take the smart cover off if you want to set it in the stand in the portrait view but that isn't a big deal.

In landscape view in the stand you can also leave the charger plugged in so it can charge.

The picture doesn't show it but there is a pull out foot on the back that keeps the iPad from tipping over, so when you get it don't forget to slide the little foot out or it will tip over.
